Technical Services Veterinarian – Swine

Our client seeks a Swine Technical Services Veterinarian to join their team in launching and supporting their innovative therapeutic product line in the USA and Canada. In this role, the successful candidate will support sales through professional level technical support to swine veterinarians, producers and distributors and will establish professional relationships with key opinion leaders in industry, government and academic circles. The incumbent will design, monitor and report on field trials and collaborate with academic or research trial cooperators and will provide technical input for the development of training, marketing and sales materials. The veterinarian will provide technical support for sales representatives, marketing personnel and fellow technical team members and will investigate and report on disease breaks and product complaints through problem resolution strategies which might include farm visits and diagnostic investigations. The incumbent will prepare and submit abstracts of field trials for oral or poster presentation at industry meetings.

Qualifications include a veterinary degree with minimum of three years veterinary practice, industry or production system experience. Swine experience is required. This position will be home/field based in the Midwest or Canada. Travel within both countries will be required. Full time or consultant candidates will be considered.

Senior Manager, Marketing Communications, U.S. Cattle Marketing

The incumbent will manage the planning, development and implementation of communications plans and programs for the beef segment, including in-line brands, Food Safety and Animal Genomics that help accomplish business and marketing goals and objectives. Partner with Segment Lead, Marketing Manager(s) and communications agency to lead, develop, implement and metric marketing communications campaigns. Manage communications and synergies across segments to ensure alignment of all key stakeholders. Ensure all communications touch points align with marketing strategies and all messaging is appropriate and consistent across mediums and portfolios. Provide strategic counsel to Marketing and other internal clients to ensure appropriate messaging and medium mix accomplish set marketing objectives by customer segment and therapeutic category. Optimize use of multi-channel campaigns to create and further customer and prospect dialogue. Manage day-to-day relationship with the communications agency and other suppliers ensuring timely interaction and follow through. Work with marketing managers to forecast and manage an allocated budget and provide analysis and tracking on a regular basis. Oversee daily activities of an associate manager also aligned to the beef segment. Oversee the production, inventory and distribution of marketing materials. Serve as the primary point of contact for agency, trade associations, industry groups, partner companies and all marketing and and promotion suppliers. Manage all public relations initiatives for Beef, Food Safety and Genomics and act as liaison to public affairs teams. Manage the copy approval process for all aligned marketing and sales materials. Develop appropriate metrics related to marketing communications programs to measure effectiveness. Ensure logistics and communications initiatives for trade shows, customer meetings and internal meetings are developed and implemented effectively. Manage the production of all graphic design projects implemented in house.

Qualifications include: BS or BA in communications or business. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of related marketing communications or advertising agency experience required. Related animal health and pharmaceutical industry experience preferred. Must demonstrate excellent marketing communications skills and knowledge, strategic thinking and implementation, as well as acumen in budget forecasting and management. Strong writing, editing and verbal communications skills a must. Experience working with cross-functional teams in developing and executing segment and brand communications strategies, programs and tactics that consistently and effectively deliver messages across brands, therapeutic areas and customer segments in support of overall business plans. Demonstrated ability to be a team player; organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced changing environment and perform well and deliver high-quality under deadline.

Senior Manager – Product Development

The food safety testing business is one of the fastest growing and most exciting businesses within our client’s overall company portfolio. It is a critical growth vector for the corporation with expectations to achieve $50-75 million in sales within 4 years. The Food Safety Testing Business Segment Manager will lead and drive the development and implementation of the food safety business strategy. Your will run a start up with a significant revenue base and customer reach. Your goal is to grow this business organically and through M&A to establish it as a market leader. You will have significant visibility and support in this key leadership role of a rapidly growing business segment. The incumbent will manage the business and have P&L responsibility. Lead a team of 5-10 business professionals including marketing and product management. Build a high performance team by hiring, training and coaching employees. Articulate and develop a go to market strategy for the food safety business. Manage the product portfolio and the overall product life cycle including new product development. Be the internal expert in the food safety testing market. Work with Corporate Development team to evaluate new business opportunities. Manage business relationships and contract negotiations with external partners. Establish relationships with standard setting bodies in various diagnostic and therapeutic areas. Partner with the sales team to create effective sales channels that reach target customer segment.

Prior general management experience of a business, with a least $50MM in revenue, including P&L responsibility. The candidate will have demonstrated ability to build and execute a strategic product roadmap development strategy (i.e. a product roadmap’). The candidate will have 5+ years of industry experience in the food safety testing market. Prior demonstrated success leading teams of at least 5 people. The candidate will have product management, sales or marketing experience in the food safety testing industry. The candidate will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant course of study. Additional advanced degrees are preferred, but not required. In their repertoire, the candidate will be self-motivated and a driving force of product development in their current or past organizations. The candidate will have experience with molecular biology techniques. The candidate will ideally have M&A and integration efforts. Strong project management skills. Strong presentation skills.
