Our client has an immediate need for a Veterinary Regional Account Manager in multiple regions to generate sales by calling on existing customers, sales leads and potential animal health or research opportunities in assigned region and to provide ongoing customer education and support. The incumbent will develop and maintain a complete understanding of our clients products and services. The incumbent will travel extensively during the day and overnight travel will be approximately 4-8 nights per month. The incumbent will generate new business and business leads and will provide ongoing customer support including supporting customers with product or technical calls.
Qualifications include Minimum of an Associates Degree (Bachelors Degree preferred) preferable with a science or business emphasis. Outside sales experience preferably selling to veterinarians. A veterinary technician background would be of interest as well. Good oral and written skills. Good active listening ability. Basic computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets. Valid DL, clean driving record, auto insurance. Ability to travel and ability to lift 60 pounds.

Key duties include
• Responsible for maintaining high readership scores and website traffic by implementing quality content across both the print and digital formats; responsible for communicating readership trends and data to editor weekly
• Contribute to editorial strategy; implement plans formulated by editorial team
• Strategically develop content ideas for website with editorial team and assign content to be executed by online editor; content should be complimentary to print journal but attractive to online audience
• Execute imposition for each issue; secure approvals of sales and president; approve final pages/ads
• Execute production of books and supplements, including editing, with use of freelance help as required

Senior Scientist – R&D

The incumbent will lead development of new products & optimization of existing products and will work with minimal supervision to develop new and improved products designed to meet consumer and companion animal needs. Will formulate products for companion animals that meet CVM and AAFCO guidelines. Develop new products and line extensions and manage product development activity (design test work, obtain resources, evaluate results with team and determine direction, maintain appropriate records of work) from concept through commercialization. Design and conduct test work in house and at co-packers Coordinate the tasks of other departments (Marketing, Purchasing, QA, Regulatory, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Contract Manufacturers) to meet project goals and to manage the project timetable. Actively identifies cost improvement opportunities and leads projects to completion. Contribute to departmental systems such as nutritional databases and suggest systems process improvements as well as cost saving efficiency improvements. Develop and issue technical specs. Participate in team and departmental activities such as meetings, committees, administrative obligations (phones, email). Train/Mentor new personnel. Maintain technical skills and personal improvement through completion of appropriate training.
Qualifications include strong formulation skills and understanding of food systems, strong knowledge of animal nutrition, strong knowledge of ingredient functionality, strong knowledge, of food processing, ability to lead and motivate a project team. Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to communicate with all levels of management. Excellent problem solving skills. Excellent organizational skills. Highly motivated and goal oriented with ability to adapt quickly to change. Must be a strong team player and possess strong interpersonal skills. Requires a high degree of integrity, maturity and honesty, demonstrate the ability to resolve interpersonal conflict, strong problem resolution skills, strong facilitator of conflict resolution, ability to effectively manage multiple projects and assignments, strong understanding of the relationship of processing equipment and formulation. BS or MS degree in Food Science, Minimum of 5 years of experience in formulating for companion animals, Minimum of 5 years of product development experience on cross functional project teams, managing products from conception to commercialization.
