Our client is seeking an experienced business development leader to manage and support all business development aspects of a fast growing Animal Health company. Primary responsibilities include: API sourcing, business partner identification, partner selection and deal execution.
The incumbent will develop/build/foster relationships with third parties and leverage those relationships to identify potential partners for API, finished dose formulation/development and finished dose manufacturing. He/She will conduct diligence to select partners, negotiate business terms and manage contracts to execution. The incumbent will analyze API needs and optimize API supply base by achieving the right combination of quality, speed, reliability and cost and will assist the VP of Strategic Portfolio Planning in financial modeling, specifically understanding key assumptions including upsides and risks. The Sr. Director/Director will work closely with cross-functional team to solicit input on partner capabilities, pattern GMP compliance and technical details of any proposals/deals and will work with Product Development to smoothly transition products from deal to project initiation.

Director – Major & Planned Gifts

The Director’s primary responsibility is the strategic execution and management of a comprehensive major and planned giving program. This position is responsible for all major gift revenue from high net-worth individuals. The Director oversees the exemplary stewardship of the legacy society, the Lamplighter Society, while securing additional planned gifts. This position is a senior leadership role, reports to the Executive Development Officer and is responsible for multiple direct reports.
POSITION ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong fundraising experience with three to five years of demonstrated success raising 5 to 6 figure gifts
- Strong management experience developing and managing a sales/fundraising team
- Understanding of fundraising best practices and ability to execute a tactical plan
- Detailed understanding of bequests and other planned giving vehicles
- Results-oriented
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required
- Experience working with a database, building reports, running queries and maintaining accurate records
- A proven ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Must be comfortable in a diverse range of social and business settings and speaking in public
- Ability to travel (up to 50 % of working time)
- A valid driver’s license is required.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with software including Raiser’s Edge, Outlook, and Microsoft Office
- Basic background knowledge in animal health and disease and ability to readily relate and communicate with study sponsors

Vice President / General Manager

The incumbent will lead and manage the day-to-day business operations of the organization to carry out its established strategic direction to achieve the growth and profitability targets. The company plans to more than double sales within the next 5-7 years. The incumbent will meet or exceed annual financial targets as contained in annual operating budgets approved by the CEO and Board of Directors and will prepare and present quarterly reports to the Board of Director’s and at quarterly all-employee meetings. In conjunction with the Corporate Management group, the incumbent will recommend overall strategic direction to the CEO and will lead the management team in annual business planning including strategic planning, establishment of company goals and setting of budgets and will carry out such plans over the course of the year. The GM will serve as a company representative to key customers and industry associations in the Animal Health Industry and keep abreast of industry trends and propose company position and strategy on important industry matters. The incumbent will work within established guidelines and directives, determine company position and make decisions on operating matters including supplier and customer relations, new products, markets, distribution systems, contractual agreements, sales and marketing programs and operating and capital expenditures. The GM will provide direction and support to New Business Development to ensure new product concepts are consistent with the Company’s vision and strategic direction and new products are secured and brought to market timely. He/She will participate in Acquisitions including the search for potential products or companies to acquire, the evaluation and due diligence of products or companies and making recommendations for (or against) such acquisitions and transitioning and integrating the acquisition upon closing. The GM will establish internal and external education and training programs as necessary to ensure the company has a skilled workforce and management ream and will evaluate and provide developmental guidance to the management group thorough quarterly performance reviews and will establish policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. He/She will ensure the manufacturing facility and quality systems are maintained in accordance with FDA’s cGMP’s and that no major compliance issues exist. This is a leadership role on the Corporate Management team. Travel requirement is up to 50%.
Qualifications include a BS/BA in business or a technical/science degree (engineering, chemistry, etc.). Advanced degree a plus (such as a DVM). 10 years experience as a General Manager or President in private industry with minimum of five years experience in animal health industry. May consider varied high level senior management experience in lieu of GM/President experience dependent upon responsibilities in those positions. The incumbent should have an understanding of financial statements, have strong leadership skills and be highly motivated.

Director – Annual Giving

Senior Vice President – Animal Health Services

Qualifications include a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, preferred board-certification, MBA or extensive business and leadership training, minimum of 7 years as a leader in an animal welfare/health organization, experience in marketing and corporate relations , solid knowledge of the animal welfare/health industry, ability to develop business strategies in line with the organization’s goals, must bridge diverse areas of expertise: medicine/surgery, toxicology, behavior, research, business strategy and marketing. Leadership and staff development skills are key, experience working with unions is helpful.

Vice President / Director of Marketing

The VP/Director of Marketing will provide commercial direction for the organization and its products. The incumbent will develop and execute a business plan for each product to reach company growth objectives including sales to keep corporate practice chains, buying groups and independent vet practices and home delivery and alternative channels as well as distributors.
