Area Sales Manager Washington DC –The incumbent is responsible for planning, implementing and directing the sales activities of the company in a region to achieve sales goals. The incumbent will develop a sales strategy to achieve organizational sales goals and revenues and will recruit, train and manage a successful sales team. The incumbent will set, monitor and manage individual sales targets with the team and will ensure robust systems are in place to provide superior on-going Customer Account Management. The incumbent will ensure the sales team has the resources to perform properly and will work with other company functions to ensure achievement of sales objectives. The incumbent will devise systems that will track, collate and interpret sales figures including lost sales and customer accounts. The incumbent will forecast annual, quarterly and monthly sales revenue, generate timely sales reports, develop pricing schedules and rates, formulate sales policies and procedures, prepare, manage and control budgets including expenses. The incumbent will analyze data to identify sales opportunities for both new and existing customers, will develop promotional/sales ideas, presentations, and proposals.
Qualifications include experience in all aspects of planning and implanting sales strategy, technical sales skills, proven experience in customer relationship management, knowledge of market research, experience in forming, managing and directing a high performing sales team, relevant product and industry knowledge and experience with relevant software applications.
