Chief Marketing and Communications Officer

Chief Marketing and Communications Officer-This role provides strategic leadership and management of the organization’s marketing and communications functions including planning, organizing, staffing, training and managing all aspects of the Marketing and Communications Division to achieve the organization’s goals. The incumbent is responsible for positioning the brand and leading the strategic planning, development and implementation of marketing and communications programs across the organization. The incumbent will drive and support both strategic and tactical organization objectives and will work collaboratively to lead organizational strategy focused on branding, messaging, promotion, advertising and market/member insights designed to increase member satisfaction and engagement.

Qualifications include a minimum of 10 years of progressive marketing and communications experience including 5 years at the management level, demonstrated success in marketing and communicating the benefits of a professional association leading to growth in member satisfaction and/or membership numbers, strong knowledge of digital marketing strategies, methodologies and metrics, strong leadership skills including demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results drive, team-oriented environment. Must be a “working” leader and have strong analytical, planning and forecasting skills, experience in leading and managing a large high-performing team, excellent communication skills and presentation skills, demonstrated ability to plan, implement and manage at both strategic and operational levels, demonstrated success within a membership of constituency environment, skilled in diplomatic facilitation of consensus between multiple perspectives, practice, professional, accountable and results-oriented, well-developed budgeting/financial skills, strong marketing, communication and customer-service orientation, strong relationship building and maintenance skills, strong computer skills, must be technically savvy, must be able to travel on behalf of the association and be able to work outside of normal business hours as required. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business or related field, Masters and/or CAE a plus. Association experience is preferred but not required.
